Folk Zen: The wise man said, "It can't be done." The fool came and did it.
Many obstacles are all about perception. Although we strive to educate and inform ourselves as much as possible in our areas of expertise, we do not claim to be the smartest or most informed. We certainly wouldn't want a fool to come around and make us look stupid.
Lao-Tzu: "I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures."
Tao Logic has adopted this quotation to become the cornerstone behind our philosophy. While the three items seem basic enough, they are much more difficult to achieve and maintain than most realize, especially in this day and age of high-speed everything.
Zen saying: "The most dangerous thing in the world is to think you understand something."
While there are many things in this world that are quite dangerous, the most unobvious hazards are those built up in our minds. Knowledge is power but it is also a double-edged sword ready to stab you in the head and/or heart.
Never accept your understanding of a situation to be finite. For every absolute truth, there is/was/will be at least one contradicting theory to challenge that truth.
Seung Sahn: "The one who praises you is a thief. The one who criticizes you is your true friend."
It is easy to give out praise, therefore it is easy to be a thief. To criticize is to give someone an objective analysis of a situation with little or no bearing towards your own gain, whether it be personal or financial.
Tao Logic consists of peers who look to one another for true criticism. We do not beat around the bush with each other nor do we do that with our clients.
Lao-Tzu: "Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you."
This quote endorses simplicity and the ability to accept things for the way they are. When you can distinguish yourself away from the environment, you become more objective. You will have the ability to see more. You will see the whole world.
